Saturday Rallies and Events in All 50 States

Do you want to show your support for working people? Do you want to show your opposition to tax cuts for the rich forcing cuts in the things government does for We, the People? Here is your chance.

Do you want to show your support for working people? Do you want to show your opposition to tax cuts for the rich forcing cuts in the things government does for We, the People? Here is your chance.

There are SAVE THE AMERICAN DREAM rallies planned in all 50 states for this Saturday. Campaign for America’s Future has joined with MoveOn.org and other organizations to ask people to join and show their support for public employees in Wisconsin and everywhere, and for working people everywhere, and for ourselves.

There are also a number of local events being “crowdsource” organized by USUncut.org. Click through to see the event map and learn more:

US Uncut is about taking action against unnecessary and unfair cuts to public services across the US. Washington’s proposed budget for the coming year sends a clear message: The wrath of budget cuts will fall upon the shoulders of hard-working Americans.

MoveOn:

On Saturday, February 26, at noon local time, we are organizing rallies in front of every statehouse and in every major city to stand in solidarity with the people of Wisconsin.

Here is the text of the email that Campaign for America’s Future and other progressive organizations are sending out:

This Saturday we’re drawing a line in the sand. We’re putting everything we’ve got into one massive display of progressive solidarity nationwide.

The protests in Wisconsin have created an opportunity we’ve got to seize. For too long, Republicans have dominated the debate over the economy. But this time, the Republicans have gone too far.

That’s why we’ve joined with allies across the country to organize solidarity rallies in major cities—including every state capital—this Saturday at noon. We’ll speak out to demand an end to the attacks on workers’ rights and public services across the country. We’ll demand investment to create decent jobs. And we’ll demand that the rich and powerful pay their fair share.

Will you join us Saturday at noon? Sign up to join your local rally here.
This massive progressive coalition is urging everyone to show our unity with the protesters in Wisconsin by wearing red and white to their local rally on Saturday.

It’s up to us to show our solidarity and make sure the amazing energy in Wisconsin spreads to the rest of the country, so that those who claim we can cut our way to prosperity don’t win the day.

But to make that happen, progressives around the country need to stand up right away and speak out against the far-right attacks on workers and public services.
Republicans are launching similar attacks on workers in other states. And in Washington, Republicans are threatening to shut the government down next week unless Democrats agree to massive cuts to everything from NPR to education to food aid for hungry children. This is our chance to shift the debate and put Republicans like Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and his tea party friends in Washington on the defensive.

We’ve come together with a huge coalition of progressive organizations—from the Netroots to the labor movement, environmental groups to community organizations—to back these rallies and make sure that the folks in Wisconsin know that millions of people across the country are standing with them.

Can you join in at the local rally Saturday? Sign up here.

Sincerely,
