Hmm, wonder where I've heard "most devastating attack since Pearl Harbor" I remember, a "new Pearl Harbor Attack" was the pre-requisite in PNAC's "Rebuilding America's Defenses" which in part attempts to legitimatize aggressive pre-emptive wars! "PNAC issued a report in 2000 under the guise of Rebuilding America's Defenses, which sounded the same tune, calling again for the ouster of Saddam, and noting ominously that the 'process of transformation' they were calling for in arming the country and making its foreign policy more belligerent, 'is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor'." Strange how some things seem to fall into place for Repuglican wants, needs, and desires.
http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Project_for_the_New_American_Century Interesting how conservative groups are so strongly connected---"The Project for the New American Century, or PNAC, is a Washington, DC based think tank. The group was established in spring 1997 as a non-profit organization with the goal of promoting "American global leadership". The chairman is William Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch, the chief executive of Fox News Channel, which owns Fox News. The group is an initiative of the New Citizenship Project, a non-profit 501c3 organization that is funded by the Bradley Foundation. (http://www.mediatransparency.org/funders/bradley_foundation.htm)" A note here---For obvious reasons PNAC was dissolved some time ago, but the influence wielded by PNAC and it's members continues on in other news entities and non-profit groups!
http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/jim-oberg/32493/corporations-are-moving-on-mission-accomplished Hasn't anyone ever wondered why Repuglicans are always talking about creating small business jobs, anyone wondered why there is no mention about industrial jobs, about manufacturing jobs, about engineering jobs? Has anyone wondered why the Repuglicans never mention "research and development", Is it because the Repuglicans made it possible to outsource all the factories, the textile mills, the jobs; the real backbone of American ingenuity, American production, America's middle-class. The other day I picked up a fry pan with a well known American brand, turned it over and discovered it was "made in Indonesia", while washing clothes I happened to notice the writing on the metal tag in the washer, and discovered another well known brand name came with a "made in Canada" notation and recently noted another well known American name in appliances has closed it's doors and moved to Mexico. It's no wonder we are in a deep recession, it's no wonder unemployment is up---we have no jobs here in America, conservative greed has destroyed the American job Middle-class infrastructure. "Our multi-national corporations are moving on to greener pastures, abandoning Americans to a painful downward economic spiral."
