The Social Security Trustees' Annual Report on the program's finances comes out Wednesday, delayed from March by the health bill. It will be turned into a marketing tool by advocates of cutting Social Security to reduce the national debt.

Among those, the president's newly appointed National Commission on Fiscal Reform (the "debt commission") is threatening to strangle the economic lifeblood of seniors by denying the solvency of Social Security and then using the solvent funds for other purposes.

It's an illusion that cutting Social Security would reduce the deficit. If the new report does not point out that the money seniors have given to Social Security keeps it solvent through 2043, and after that 80 percent funded, it's a propaganda fraud for defunders.

Moreover, that future shortfall is only a blip - a point missed by nearly all media. After the Baby Boomers reap their Social Security benefits, since those Boomers have had the fewest children ever (2.1 per couple vs. the current 2.7 rate), the system will return to full solvency because it will pay benefits to fewer people.

To cut a national deficit by cutting Social Security, which does not have a deficit, is theft from seniors who have paid in. If a bank told a customer, "Sorry. We've spent your money on other items," would anyone accept that or say: "Fine, you made money on my money but you still owe me mine. Pay up."

The debt commission is littered with politicians and industry CEOs who have a history of wanting to scale back Social Security benefits. House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, D-Mich., told us in an interview, "The commission is loaded with billionaires who want to convert Social Security's money to business."

Commission Co-chairman Erskine Bowles is linked to Wall Street as a Morgan Stanley board member, and Honeywell CEO David Cote to the defense industry, both of which would benefit from Social Security's money. Will these captains of industry stand up for people who need Social Security the most? Or look for ways to transfer its money to defense and stocks?

Co-chairman Alan Simpson, along with Dave Camp, Judd Gregg, Tom Coburn and Mike Crapo, made statements supporting cutting or privatizing Social Security. Sen. Richard Durbin told "bleeding-heart liberals" to be open to Social Security cuts. Alice Rivlin co-authored a 2005 report titled Restoring Fiscal Sanity that advocated $47 billion in entitlement cuts, including an "increase in the retirement age under Social Security."

Why could the administration not appoint former Connecticut Congresswoman Barbara Kennelly, president of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security? Or Al Gore, who famously said he would protect Social Security in a "lockbox"? Or expert "policy wonk" Bill Arnone, a partner at Ernst & Young, co-author of the firm's retirement planning guide, a spokesman for the positive economics of Social Security?

The program remains indispensable in enabling the 38 million senior citizens over 65 nationwide and 3 million in Florida to live their lives in dignity. Without Social Security, nearly half of Americans age 65 or older would be below the poverty line. For two-thirds of the elderly, Social Security provides the majority of their income. For one-third, it provides nearly all.

We need the courage of the late Florida Congressman Claude Pepper. In 1978, when Commerce Secretary Juanita Kreps suggesting raising the retirement age, Rep. Pepper and House Social Security Chairman James Burke ran over for a meeting, and Rep. Pepper said they would "fight it to our death." Ms. Kreps suddenly said the proposal hadn't been drawn up.

The debt commission has plenty of options. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the military needed to cut its "gusher of defense spending." Congress could also scale back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy to the levels they were under President Clinton and could get rid of tax breaks for U.S. corporations doing business overseas. The deficit needs to be cut, but not at the cost of our seniors.

During a 2006 speaking tour, every time President Bush spoke of his plan to privatize Social Security, his approval ratings dropped. His advocacy of cuts helped cost Republicans the Congress. While up a hair recently, the market has lost 20 percent since 2000. Voters knew that would have meant 20 percent less food on the table for seniors or money for electricity. President Obama should not let the commission make the same mistake, or this time it will cost him and his party.

Robert Weiner was chief of staff of the House Select Committee on Aging, chaired by the late U.S. Rep. Claude Pepper, and a senior public-affairs director in the White House. Jonathan Battaglia is policy analyst at Robert Weiner Associates.

Why doesn't Congress just

Why doesn't Congress just take all the elderly people and throw them off a cliff? Put them in front of a firing squad?

They revolt me. Along with the Republicans who have the nerve to talk so moralistically about euthanasia.

I'm not surprised that David Plouffe (sp?) 's reelection strategy is aiming at all the young people who have never voted before.

I have to wonder if an H. Clinton presidency would have allowed this to happen.

Here's a no=brainer: get

Here's a no=brainer: get out of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Very poor article. Fewer

Very poor article. Fewer baby boomer kids means less money paid in. To be fair, the old folks reap about three times more than they paid in, thanks to massive boosts in the 1970s.

I agree that cuts are needed, but first cut the military budget in half. Then look at cutting SS for the wealthy. Why should government pay SS retirement for those still working and getting a govt. check, like half those in Congress?

...from my cold dead

...from my cold dead hands...we live in a disposable society, people are disposable, throw-away...we can't or won't take care of the unemployed let alone our aged and disabled...this past week congress let the long term unemployed slip further through the cracks but boy oh boy were a lot of new fancy phones sold...we are upside-down...not just house loans, it's our whole house, the street it's on and the city or town where it's located...but we can fight wars, kill, kill, kill...what we spend our money on defines who we are...

Yea, let's kill social

Yea, let's kill social security and put the elderly on a different taxpayer-funded welfare program, like food stamps. Or just boot them onto the streets.

Thieves in the Federal

Thieves in the Federal Government are taking everything out of the hands of the public and putting it into the vaults of the very rich. Look for all the roads and parks and everything else that we, the people, have built and paid for to be put sold to private corporations. We have all paid in to social security, but money and debt are completely confused in out corrupt federal reserve system. This won't change until we reform our banking system. Until then we will continue to squander our wealth on endless wars to create debt with interest.

Obama SUPPOSEDLY has

Obama SUPPOSEDLY has surrounded himself with the "Best and the Brightest," yet he still entertains, and, apparently supports the Mythology of the Social Security "drainage."

When he burst onto The Scene at the 2004 Democratic Convention, I told whoever would listen that "this clown is NOT your friend!" I repeated my warning again when he mounted his campaign for the Presidency. And, yet again, when he was elected to the White House!

I asked all to take a look at his Cabinet appointments if any doubts remained as to which way he was gonna go. . .And, I've continued to voice my alarms as he:
1) left in place virtually ALL of Mad King George's "executive decisions"
2) did a "Carl Sagan" in giving out "BBBILLIONS & BBBILLIONS & BBBILLIONS" of dollars with no strings attached to the Crooks and Thieves who'd messed up our economy
3) escalated the war in Afghanistan
4) he's caved in to the "anti-Main Street" groups and factions
. . .Geez! The list of screw-ups by Obama staggers one as it grows and grows (Like Pinocchio's Nose. . .Based on the LIES he spewed during his pre-election days!)

One almost has to believe that he's REALLY "Bush Three!"

Where's it gonna end? And, how long is the Public gonna buy the Lines of Crap put out on BOTH sides of the Aisle??!!!!

It almost seems as if Dick

It almost seems as if Dick Cheney is calling the shots. A source of infinite disquiet.

The "Defense" budget is obscene.

Republicans are NEVER a

Republicans are NEVER a choice for the populace.

Start a movement to

Start a movement to legalize, regulate and tax Marijuana to save Social Security. Then require all policy makers to take intensive workshops in conflict resolution. Next re-instate laws that break up public media to help stop brain washing and propagandizing by corporate interests. Murdock is BAD News. Pass a constitutional amendment to keep non public money out of elections. Create a Department of Peace. Require employers to hire 1 senior for every 10 employees. Require those who make policy to always review both the long and short term consequences of their actions. Myopia seems to be the keynote of American History. Every man made concept or object you touch or perceive was dreamed up, change your dreams.

Regardless of what has

Regardless of what has already been paid in and the bogus (already borrowed) balances in the "trust funds", preserving Social Security is and will always be a current accounts problem, i.e., funds available from taxes and borrowing from the public vs. benefits paid. The best way to assure the future of Social Security is to control spending for other government programs and reduce the national debt.

THE GOVT. HAS BEEN

THE GOVT. HAS BEEN LIQUIDATING THE FUND FOR YEARS WITHOUT HAVING TO JUSTIFY IT.
BULLSHIT ON CUTING OUR SS BENEFIT.
WE PAID FOR IT NOW PAY UP.

A vote to defund Social

A vote to defund Social Security is equivalent to resigning one's seat in Congress. Seniors vote.

How ironic that as we are

How ironic that as we are about to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Social Security, a DEMOCRATIC ADMINISTRATION voted in by seniors is getting ready to destroy us. Shameful that the lies created by the likes of Pete Peterson and his gang of corporate thugs are driving the debate instead of the truth of where the deficit came from. How about the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the 100's of military bases we support around the world and oh yes how about the casino gambling of the financial world and what about the debts left by the previous 8 horror years of Bush and his gang? NO - silly me it's all the fault of seniors, widows and their orphan children and disabled folk. Who knew we have so much power!

The no-brainer is: A- The

The no-brainer is:
A- The USA to declare Independence from Israel.
B- The USA to stop all the (Israel's) proxy wars.
C- The USA to stop plan for future (Israel's) proxy wars.
D- The USA to dismantle all (Israel's) proxy ( 800 plus) military around the world.
Once A to D is done the USA Treasure will be able to pay for all medical care of all USA residents and have plenty of money left for social programs and programs to fix the infrastructure of the country.
Let alone becoming a moral being.

1. They can no longer put us

1. They can no longer put us out to die on an ice flow, they have melted.

2. It will cost $$$Billions of $$$ to remove the dead bodies from the street.

3. What goes around-Comes around, good luck you filthy Bastards and children of the Devil.

I think the neo-cons in

I think the neo-cons in Britain are going to attempt to do much the same.

Gosh, I am 83 years young,

Gosh, I am 83 years young, For reasons I do not need to discuss, for the past 18 years my annual income would have been t $ 278 if I did not receive social security.

How many Members of Congress or committee members would like to consider living 18 years on a twit of an income? My work history was about 45 years in the market place!

Let's start playing a truth game. Let's beat the you know what out of people who have helped this country to grow and expand . We did not create this mess --- don't skin us alive on your sharp knives of dishonesty and distrust.

maybe they will pay for the

maybe they will pay for the option of Dr. Kevorkian or a bullet if that is too much ........ seeing how onlly 25o or so is allotted for burial.

that's what's going to be needed if SS is pulled away from alot of people when it's all they have.

or like was stated .. alot of dead to be pulled out of their homes and put of the street. An induced modern Plague...... curse all those political houses.

vote green party , vote anything else .

But cons, Dems, and libertarians ? Same crap different way of looking at it.

I'm sure it doesn't help

I'm sure it doesn't help matters that ....

BUSH PLEDGES NOT TO TOUCH SOCIAL SECURITY SURPLUS... "We're going to keep the promise of Social Security and keep the government from raiding the Social Security surplus." [President Bush, 3/3/01]

...BUSH SPENDS SOCIAL SECURITY SURPLUS The New York Times reported that "the president's new budget uses Social Security surpluses to pay for other programs every year through 2013, ultimately diverting more than $1.4 trillion in Social Security funds to other purposes." [The New York Times, 2/6/02]

They won't consider it.

They won't consider it. Those members of Congress all have very nice retirements benefits!

Why not have Congress take a

Why not have Congress take a cost of living
drop! How come we pay for retired people that
are already wealthy? President Kennedy
donated his salary as president, however
we did help pay for Jackie's lavish lifestyle.
I think we all should scale back not just the
ones that lose their jobs. Maybe salaries
should be tied to the unemployment rate
or other rates that we measure our basic
standard of living by...if Congress cannot
produce then let's put them on merit pay!

Hey, let's put everyone on merit pay, when
we aren't doing well or a company isn't doing
well, we/they all take a cut, Maybe we all
would work better then.

If Obama would have brought

If Obama would have brought in people like Ralph Nader into his Cabinet instead of his Wall street friends a lot of these problems would be solved and we could lock up the thieves that slither along K street. I'm glad I voted for Nader.

Let me just say that my

Let me just say that my generation (baby boom) was 'asked' to pay double into Social Security, and we did, because it was not optional.

Social Security in NOT an entitlement program. It is a forced retirement savings plan, automatically taken out of our paychecks. It is my money and I want every penny of it back.

If Congress and Obama are looking for entitlement programs to cut, I suggest they eliminate the LIFETIME MEDICAL BENEFITS that they enjoy at the expense of the taxpayer, for starters.

Somebody say vote green

Somebody say vote green party? Only if Obama wins the nomination again.

The disconnect is amazing.

The disconnect is amazing. Social Security and Medicare benefits help keep communities going all over the nation. Social Security of parents and grandparents often provides fallback for other family members who have lost jobs and are making far less per hour than they did. It's time to restore the tax level on richer Americans to what it was during the Clinton years. It is also time to raise the income ceiling on FICA deductions. Then we can end federal contracts with private corporations that have committed fraud and other horrendous crimes against us such as XE alias Black Water and start prosecutions to recover billions. I'm sure ordinary Americans, once proudly called the common man, are sick of being referred to as "little people" and "lesser people." We are neither. We are Americans all, who have labored, fought, taught, cared for and contributed to this nation in myriad ways. And even in old age continue to volunteer for non-profits and, reach out to help our families, neighbors and entire communities. We are a critical part of the safety net of this nation. And don't you forget it.

It is all part of the

It is all part of the plan.

Haven't you figured out yet, that it is NOT an accident that the right pursues increased spending and lower taxes whenever possible resulting in the most massive increases in debt in US history (Reagan and Bush43) . And that it is not just Friedman economics etc. It is a deliberate plan to create a financial crisis of such massive proportions that it will create the opportunity to dispense with the last vestiges of the hated New Deal and Great Society, Social Security and Medicare, along with all other "entitlements" that do not benefit their corporate cronies. Along the way money is dispensed to the affluent beneficiaries of the tax cuts, as corporate welfare, defense spending (specialized corporate welfare) and even a trifle to faith-based "service providers" that are just unaccountable outlets of Evangelical proselytizing . A win-win from the right point of view.

Raise the FICA withholding

Raise the FICA withholding cap, now at $106,800. Extend it to all income levels, so that it isn't just the lower-paid who contribute. "Problem solved" ad infinitum.

Check this out--

My High School teacher died

My High School teacher died at the age of 60. Though he worked hard his whole life, and put a lot into SSS over his 35+ year teaching career and jobs before, he never lived to see one penny of retirement. Neither did Michael Jackson, for that matter, or a lot of other people.
Saying something like that may seem gruesome, but it is fact that cannot deny there are other factors at work that prevent the program from becoming insolvant for the rest of us who manage to live beyond the age of retirement.
The chart we are used to seeing is only a two dimensional graph, showing a future old age curve predicting a crisis when it may eventually run dry (but don't let them convince you of it).
I'm tired of hearing the old two dimensional argument. If my teacher were in heaven and found that I could one day retire on what he left behind, I think he'd be happy for us, because he loved us and always wanted to do what he could. Can't say the same for our politicians, but if we could, maybe they'd leave the fund alone.

Eradicate President Obama

Eradicate President Obama and his Band of Idiots.

"Raise the FICA withholding

"Raise the FICA withholding cap, now at $106,800. Extend it to all income levels, so that it isn't just the lower-paid who contribute. "Problem solved" ad infinitum."

Raise it? Hell, just eliminate it altogether.

Again I am amazed that

Again I am amazed that commentators most frequently do not give their name, a fact that immediately weakens their statement. Some do.
Pat Williams writes an excellent comment. But that name in Google brings up almost a dozen people the identity of several of which would give considerable added weight to his/her intelligent comments.
I strongly agree with 06/27/00:34that the withholding cap of $106,800 for FICA should be raised. I would agree with John also 00:34 that if I did not use up all I paid in, I would be pleased to know it was helping someone else . A brother in law died in his forties but SS enabled his wife to supplement her work and care for the family until they could care for themselves. I have a sixty year old mentally retarded son who since he turned 21 has been supported by SS.
A super-tax on the rich like was done t0 pay for WWII must be instituted to pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The WWII debt was paid off and the rich did not suffer.
We must stop trying to rule the world militarily. It is much cheeper and more effective to do it with kindness and cooperation.
Incidentally, I worked until 72 and for paying in those extra years, get 15% extra. I am glad I did for when Northwester Steel and Wire Mill went bankrupt I lost half my IRA.
SOCIAL SECURITY IS NOT A SAVINGS PLAN BUT A SECURITY. If you want to put aside more money, a 401 k or more money in your IRA is the way to go, not privatization of Social Security.
Let your Senators and Representative know how you feel.

Stop the media -and push

Stop the media -and push them to tell the truth of what is really go on. It is controlled by those who wants to take the ss and all funds because the crooks wants one global gorvernment, that we will have it - if we do not stop this media mockery and disrespect towards the public. They simply treat us as "Stupid" Do not watch TV- Do not pay cable. They are making you pay for cheap entertainment, repeated movies, (specially, wars, crimes & sex).

They want to keep us ignorant, to make it easier to dominate us. Teachers are being cut and classes are more crowded and crime increases in school.

what will the people

what will the people tolerate ,not thirst not denial of air but anything else they can be manipulated into falling for,for example we elected a president who's victory was based on name familiarity , he had no accomplishments to boast of , the media lavished him with exposure , with paid advertising they are going to pound soc sec as to expensive ,did the gov not just spend trillions to create jobs well does it not create jobs when soc sec recipients spend their check to pay for basic services ,and we know where the money goes where did the money go the fed handed out to the financial sector, they wont even tell congress, how many jobs did it create ,Prima Facie ,none ,robbed again, they won,t argue the need of it or that it was promised and paid for they will stun the public with ,there will be only two people working for every one person collecting soc sec, they won't touch on the enormous increase of productivity due to computers robotics and a increased crop yields, the elite won't stop until they have destroyed the mantle of decency that was the American middle class because they enjoy it, I 'm writing in support of the folks who depend on that check ,if the wealthy who have been evading taxes don't need it to survive will they kindly return it to the treasury

When will some people stop

When will some people stop bringing Israel into every domestic issue facing the United States?

No, Israel is not the reason why we don't open up Medicare or why we're now struggling with Congress about social security.

That is what is a no-brainer. The problems of the world are not the Jewish conspiracy some people's sick minds (who post on truthout) can't get around, or the State of Israel.

Put bluntly - they're rich -

Put bluntly - they're rich - what do they care?

12:41->100% right!What

12:41->100% right! What correct logic would take the ONLY healthy surviving social program & subject it to the certain law$ of failure others have succumbed to-- 2008 Recession blowout proves these peoples ideas are WRONG...but they are not concerned & should be fired. It is not theirs to touch. Do we want TOTAL failure--yes, this is what they want.

As "Interested Observer"

As "Interested Observer" notes indirectly above, the object of the exercise is to destroy any vestige of government for "We the People." A government that might protect the people from the predations of the rich. At this point in the war, and it truly is a war, the rich have clearly won. They completely control our "government" and are currently in unobstructed looting mode. Paradoxically, the only hope left for the people is the horror of total social collapse. Only then do we have a small chance to shake these parasites off of our back. The alternative is a stable serfdom far worse than slavery.

The american poor are dead

The american poor are dead to the government that we have supported for years. The american politician and the ultra rich do care if we live or die. Well that's not quite true, they would like to see us dead. Millions of american people didn't realize that the senate and congress just gave themselves another 10% pay raise that was taken out of the american workers pocket. When will the american public wake up to the facts and realize that your votes or your voices count for anything any more. The democracy that we once loved and protected no longer exist and we continually turn a blind eye to the very things that are killing us. If you think for one minute that the people you elected to political office are going too help you, well you had better think again because they because it is we, John Q. Public who has let them stray from the constitution and keep the poor man poor and the rich man rich. I say again. The government of the United States will be glad to see you dead and therefore no longer a problem for the rich.

Since the Federal candidates

Since the Federal candidates up for election this year in my state are worthless, I've decided to write in my personal candidate preference: Mun E. Grubber. For both Federal offices.

I suggest that for any of us who have worthless candidates, we all do the same. Just give the vote of confidence to the people actually doing their Constitutional job descriptions, send the rest a message that they are worthless. (If enough of us did it, we could tip bad candidates into the dustbin and force special elections. That should make it clear that we've had it with their drunken Kool-Aid parties with the corporate lobbiests.)

And let's get over this fear-based idea that we have to vote for the lesser of two evils. Seriously, can it get any worse? Is either party worth the powder and shot to blow it to hell? (Some of the legislators are still excellent, but it's the minority, unfortunately. Both parties, however, are irredeemably corrupt.)

Mun E. Grubber. Remember that name.

Social security is an easy

Social security is an easy fix - eliminate the cap.

Now to fix the deficit - cut military spending in half. We have a bloated military dependent on for-profit contractors who only have loyalty to the American dollar, not the American people.

If you will look back into

If you will look back into history or use the google you will see that Ronald Reagan said, "Oh my god the boomers are going to create a real strain on SS so he got them to double the amount that SS took in to cover the boomer bubble but of course then the Republicans started chanting "It's your money!" And Bush stole what we'd been saving and handed out the biggest chunks to the rich.

Ah, the magic shell game of

Ah, the magic shell game of lets-kill-social-security lives on, and on and on.
Social Security is not the "problem" here, oh dear Congresscritters! and deficit, cost-cutting asses!
The problem is the heinous amounts of our collective wealth being squandered in wars for oil and minerals!!!

If you think today's seniors

If you think today's seniors are dependent on social security, just wait a few years. Act one in this drama was the eliminated private pensions. They were just burdening American business. The workers were given 401K plans with a "defined contribution" from their employer. Ask former Enron employees how well that works.

Act two will start to be felt as boomers retire and discover that their 401K is worth very little and the defined contribution from their previous employer is a pittance. (The hospital I worked for contributes 2% of an employee's salary as a defined amount for the retirement account.) Young workers do not think about retirement and do not give serious consideration to their company's retirement plans and how that will effect their personal long-term prospects.

Boomers and future generations will not be able to live on their retirement accounts, making them totally dependent on social security.

Then, Act three is the elimination of social security. We will be back where we were before the New Deal with elders dependent on family. The difference is that we do not have large, close-knit families any more to shoulder the burden. Nor do people have mortgage-free homes as our parents did.

The "golden years" for retirees is passing out of existence - except for the wealthy, of course. The galling thing is that the American people are too distracted and entertained by the trivial to notice. All the ruling class has to do is stir up another faux "social issue" to divide us, and they win every time. Shame on us.

Join the "I told O." club,

Join the "I told O." club, write the
Bush in Blackface prez and let him know
NO interference with Social Security!

IMO people are crazy to vote

IMO people are crazy to vote for the Democrats unless they - figuratively speaking - grab the Republicans by the balls, throw them in the gutter, beat the shit out of them, and

Open up Medicare for the country
Stop messing with social security
Get out of Afghanistan and Iraq NOW

And reinvest in the United States and the 35 million unemployed Americans, with numbers growing.

Put the money into THIS

Put the money into THIS country, Congress.

Or get out of Washington !

Congressshould remove the

Congressshould remove the social security earnings cap. Why is there a maximum earned gross income, or upper threshold, on which a wage earner's Social Security tax may be imposed? If I earn $110,000 this year, I'd pay $6,621.60 in Social Security tax. If I earn $110,000,000 (MILLION) this year, I'd still only pay $6,621.60 in Social Security tax. In both cases, the corporation I work for would only have to pay $6,621.60. Corporations really get big breaks with the current scheme, as usual. If Social Security is in dire need of funding, then remove the cap and let it be funded by workers AND the companies they work for! Medicare has no wage cap imposed on earnings.... make the programs the same.

I have the answer. Why

I have the answer. Why don't we just cut the military budget?
http://costofwar.com/
How long can we support these wars of choice? As long as the military-industrial complex is making a profit.
It all makes me want to throw up. The airheads in congress want to blame the unemployed for just wanting to be unemployed and that that is the reason for the deficit. Back in the 30s, the same empty-headed people in congress objected to extending the benefits of the WPA on the grounds that this would encourage the unemployed to remain unemployed! Will they ever learn?

Does this mean we can knock

Does this mean we can knock off ALL old folks, like the old white Conservative Christian men that run the USA and most of the world?

Alas, no, Corey . . . !

Alas, no, Corey . . . ! You're only allowed to starve them to death, along with your grandparents and their friends . . .

Dear Anonymous on 6/27 at

Dear Anonymous on 6/27 at 7:46: The Israel bashers will stop when the money they're getting paid to bash Israel stops getting paid to them. Issues like Social Security however, are particularly sensitive when considering that dual Israeli-American citizen Rahm Emanuel is still at the President's elbow; he has never had any use for American workers is what bothers me; and Israel and his being Jewish has nothing to do with that.

Dear Anonymous on 6/26 at

Dear Anonymous on 6/26 at 16:32 - Be very clear about this: a Hilary Presidency would not only have trended this way, it would have ACCELERATED IT! She had Worker-Hater Mark Penn working on her campaign an entire year after she knew how disagreeable he is. Now, as State, she's surrounded by . . . Blackwater. Yes, there are things worse than an Obama mid-term with Congress worried about seniors not voting for them come November.
