"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."- George Bernard Shaw
Much of the reporting I saw while working in Washington was "reasonable," because the beat reporters and their editors didn't want to alienate the "reasonable" people they covered. Truthout, on the other hand, does not accept the current state of our world: Our reporters asks "unreasonable" questions and our analysts put forward "unreasonable" solutions. That is how progress will be made.
But we cannot continue our mission without your help. Advertisers don't advertise with "unreasonable" organizations without a price, and we don't accept their "reasonable" money.
That's why we rely on readers like you who share our commitment to progress through truth. And right now, we need your help: We are falling short of our fundraising goal and still need to raise at least $7,000 more by the end of tonight.
