The top ten list is by no means exhaustive and focuses on disasters that have been largely ignored – both by the mainstream media and the government that is supposed to be protecting people from the ravages of environmental degradation and the corporations responsible for it. Some of those disasters were even the blatant result of government negligence and/or ignorance.
